Oscar Mayer Wiener Mobile

I was so excited to see this mobile in town, so I told the kids I wanted to show them something cool. As we approach the mobile, they couldn't believe I was excited about this. I told them "it's the oscar mayer wiener mobile" their response... was we can see that. I guess I am aging myself, because all they saw it as was a hot dog mobile.

A cup of coffee with a good conversation

Today the kids asked if they could have coffee. Leah made the pot of coffee and once it was done, she served herself and the boys. I was in the other room, but they were having a good conversation between the 3 of them. I don't have pics, because I didn't want to ruin the moment. It was nice to know they can get along w/o any bickering among each other. Maybe when they are having a sibling rivalry, I will offer coffee. I hope as they get older they can have a cup of coffee and have many good conversations about their childhood or whatever may be on their minds. I know when I shared this story with my mother she was quite proud of the coffee request, because they pick up the coffee drinking from Grandma Petrick.

Let's Play Ball

Chad up to bat.

Are you ready Nathan?
How far can you hit?
Here's the ball!
Scott has been very busy lately with his job and he hasn't had much family time with his kids. The boys asked if he would play ball and once they started, they had a awesome time. I had to take pictures, because that moment was something the boys wouldnt't forget in a long time.

Summer ....You to have your toe nails Painted!!!

Especially in the summer Leah loves to have her toe nails done.
She wears flip flops to show them off. So if you drive by and Leah
is on the porch, she's probably doing her nails.

The Boys Moment On A Farm

Nathan and Austin bottle feeding the calves
Chad enjoying the moment.

Chad petting the calf.
Chad, Cody,Nathan and Troy taking a ride around the farm on the
four wheeler.
We visited our friends who live on the farm and the boys got the
opportunity to help feed the calves. They were so excited and
talked about for a long time. That's what memories are about!
This was in the beginning of July, but I had to post this, because
the boys still talk about this day when they see the pictures.

Grandpa is driving again!!!

It's been 10 weeks since my Dad's accident and on
Wednesday, July 23rd he's back in the driver seat,
well on the transport that is. Nathan wanted to
have the wagon hooked up and have Grandpa give
them a ride.I believe it made everyones day.

DQ Treats

Chad with a grape artic-rush
Nathan carmel sundae
Leah oreo blizzard
The kids would love to make their second home
at the DQ if possible. Normally the kids only get
the kids cone for 50/60 cents, but mom made it
a special visit and let them choose what they
wanted. YEAH!!! Their Dad has been working
alot of hours, so we took him a treat where he
was working.

Nathan's New Rollerblades

Nathan received new rollerblades also, but he had to wait a few days extra until I could get to the store, because I bought the wrong size. Well as soon as he got the new ones, he put them on immediately and has been rollerblading ever since. He's actually pretty good, about the time you think he's going to land on his bottom, he does this wild move and saves himself. Watching him sends chills up my back, but he has no FEAR!! To be young again.

Pizza Hut visit with Grandma

Another tradition of Grandma's is taking the kids out for pizza during summer vacation. We all get our personal pan pizza and have a good time. There's lot's of laughs and giggles.

A ride on a golf cart

Nathan, Chad and Regina on her golf cart.
Leah and Regina going for a ride.
Leah and Regina (Leah's godmother)
We stopped to see Regina, she is a special person to us. Regina use to be a very active person, but unfortunately has a medical condition, which has affected her mobility, so when she feels the need to go outside; she gets herself on the golf cart and drives herself around. Leah thinks the world of her.

I was a flower girl 35 yrs ago for this couple!!!

I was a flower girl for this couple 35 yrs ago. Where has the time gone? I hadn't seen Denny and Elaine(cousin) for years, but we connected at an Uncle's funeral. I'm glad I didn't age any and I still see myself as that little girl yet....... until I look in the mirror. I remember the dress and my lovely natural curly hairdo, just as if it was yesterday. Congratulations on 35 yrs of marriage.

Chad's New Rollerblades

New Rollerblades

Chad loves loves them, but is practicing is soft areas until he gets the hang of it. He's young so he will catch on quickly.

Leah's New Purchase

Leah and I went to Iowa City, school shopping on Sunday and her best purchase was.... her hat. She's really growing up and turning into a young lady. It just seems like we were bringing her home yesterday from the hospital. She really looks cute
in this hat. I did notice on Sunday that mom's taste is no longer
great and/or hip. The girl knows what she likes.

Changes

If there's anything that I learned from my last employment and that was "CHANGES" are good. I was messing around with the blog and again trying widen my technology background, so now the blog looks different. I have a friend Lisa from work that says you can't mess anything up on a computer that someone can't fix, so don't be afraid and try things, so here's to you Lisa! Another day with nothing scheduled, but I have alot of options in how to fill the day up!! The alarm went off at 4 a.m. this morning for Scott, but it was more effective for me than him. Let's say I had a discussion if he could be so kind to set the alarm when he thinks he going to actually GET UP and not a hour before. It totally wasn't a waste of time, we discuss alot of things that we haven't had time to discuss by ourselves. Have a great day.

Where does the time go?

It's been a while since I blogged and I have pics to share!!!! The time goes so fast in a day, that before I know I am waking up to another new day. Today was the first day in a long time that we didn't have a schedule.....I'm not complaining. Ever since the first child started school, my parents are kind enough to purchase their school tennis shoes. So guess what they did today? They got their new Tennis shoes!!! The kids were EXCITED!! Leah's shoes are the white and green and the boys got the grey/black and green.

Sympathy to Rick's family

On Sunday, July 13th we received the message that our High School classmate had passed away from cancer at the age of 40. We want to send our Sympathy to his wife Sheila and their 3 children. Even knowing that Rick was fighting this battle and the cancer was taking over, I just can't believe it. I guess I am in somewhat in denial that anyone that age could pass away, even though you see it in the paper all the time. Maybe God is sending us several messages here.....The good die young.....and a person should live the day to the fullest, because who knows when our time may come to an end. It has me thinking in how I would like to change my life, so I guess I have a few goals to work on. Rick was very musically talented, so I'm sure he is in heaven playing music for everyone and enjoying the reunion with his love ones. May God bless and guide Sheila and the kids with strength and comfort.

The Boys Playing Cops

The boys love playing Cops. They even had handcuffs. Yes, the even arrested their own mother!!! They even put hands cuffs on me, but I made sure I could get them off, before they put them on me. These hats were from their Halloween outfits, so it's nice to see that the hats are used for more than one occasion.
