Donations Needed

Here's a motor bike the boys came across G'pa and G'ma Petricks barn. It needs some needed attention. The boys were determine to get it in G'pa and G'ma's garage so their dad and g'pa can work on it in their spare time. The boys are hoping this project to be completed by spring. I have a funny feeling this could be very interesting.

Well you haven't heard it all........if for some reason G'pa and Dad can't complete that project the boys have new motor bikes pick out at Dick's Sporting Goods in Cedar Rapids. We even had to take pictures, so they can DREAM and hope for a new or old bike. As their mother sees it, its going to cost money either way, so any donations are welcomed! LoL!

They do look cute on them and maybe because I know they can't run them, which means they can't get HURT!

Life is busy!

O my gosh I can't wait for a non hectic week. Monday Scott left for Newton with his job and retuned late Tuesday night. Since he returned late, I got the opportunity to take the boys to their first wrestling practice for 09. Scott warned me it would be HOT, but failed to mention it stinks of Sweat! Those little boys can literally create a stink! Wednesday Scott gets to dine out for supper with his employers, Leah goes to dance and I leave at 7 for a meeting regarding Nathan's 1st Communion. Tonight will be all about timing, so please cross your fingers. I have a School board meeting on Thursday-did I fail to mention Scott is on call all week.I know there are busier people out there, but this is busy for us. The one thing we have going for us tonight and that is homework is done at 5:14. Nathan always seems to be the one with the homework, so getting him to do it right away is a miracle its self! I will hope for a relaxed day on Friday! Have a good week.

Let's Go Sledding!

Here's a few photos of our family going sledding. We just went to the Park in town and went for a hour or so. We had alot of fun that day. While sledding there was just a few snow flurries and not bad temperature out. I love seeing smiling faces and giggles from the kids and saw alot of that on this day. Check out the fancy snow tubes...they were awesome but what a pain to blow up, but good ol' Scott(Dad) got the job done!

Bad Habit? Just depends!

I am celebrating! I just got my computer back from the computer guy...it had a virus going on! I didn't realize that I used it sooo much at home until it was gone. I do have to say I did get more house work done....well I can't say that' s totally true, because I was home due to the real cold weather, so maybe the house work got done because I was home. Let's go with that. This computer is like my oxygen tank...I now can breathe better.

More Christmas Photos

Gee are these really our children? Ever since Christmas they are constantly playing with their Ninetendo DS together. I love this picture for many reasons...1. They are truly happy kids 2. They're NOT FIGHTING 3. Just looking at this picture- I see sibling love!

I love watching the kids play together, it truly warms my heart. My wish for them is to have such great relationship until ripe old age.

The kids showing off their new gifts from the Gibbs Family. We had a great time !

The 3 showing some clothing that they received at Christmas.

I told myself last year I was going to have a new Christmas this year...... well it didn't happen. We looked and I just wasn't pleased with any of the artificial trees. I also figured for the price of the tree, I could purchase alot of presents. I told Scott the tree did it's job, which was stand upright so Santa and us could put some presents under the tree. Oh yes I still planning on getting a new tree someday.

Christmas Pictures

Opening Christmas presents is truly about the kids. Seeing the excitement in their eyes is priceless! I can't believe the thrill the kids have and show. They seemed to be pleased in what they recieved and loved the gifts Santa brought them.

Nathan with Ninetendo DS game for his new Ninetendo DS he received from us.

Leah with the boots that she sooo much wanted!

Chad too recieved a Ninetendo DS from us.

These are truly the best gifts we received. The kids made all the items we are holding at school. They were proud of their gifts and we were proud of them!

Scott's 1st Christmas with Black Hills Energy

This story will definitely be a memorable Christmas Party for us to remember. Scott started a new job in September with a business named Aquila and now known as Black Hills Energy. Their Christmas party was Saturday in Dubuque at Bricktown Brewery. We watched the weather and made the decision to go ahead, since at the time of travel it was fine. We were having a good time and meeting new people, when they made the announcement that the place was closing their business downstairs due to the poor weather conditions outside, but the party was more than welcome to continue on. I'm sure it was a picture moment, when Scott and I looked at each other wondering what the heck we got ourselves into. The main business man(Mark) of the company came over to talk to us and another couple whom was also about 45 minutes from home and shared his concern that our safety was very important and that if traveling was unsafe to get a hotel and the company would be happy to take care of the expense. I was just impressed that first of all he acknowledge the value of our lives, let alone the offer in helping with the hotel. Scott and I felt we would try to attempt in going home. We came out of the resturant and about found oursleves on the ground because it was sooo slippery. We proceeded in traveling and found the traveling wasnt safe, so we decided to get a hotel room. The time frame is 10 pm, so knowing that we were going to stay in Dubuque we thought we would run into Target and get some PJ's due to no extra clothing. We get to Target and they are closed, so we thought maybe Hy-Vee might sell a t-shirt of some kind well.....no luck unless you needed a gloves and mittens! So we got a pop and a bag of chips instead! Well needles to say we had to make what clothing we had on work. I really can't say that was the worst part of our trip. It was when talking to our 2 boys and telling them we wouldn't be home, because it was to dangerous and they were crying so hard that we couldn't understand them. This was the first time they had to stay over night with my parents. Leah was already staying at a friends, so no concern on her part. We made it home late (sunday) morning and the everyone was glad to see each other. We laugh now, but it wasn't so funny at first!
